Dr Evy Shin is originally from South Korea and moved to NZ with her family when she was 7 years old. She has grown up in Auckland most of her life and completed her medical degree at the University of Auckland. She went on to work at Waikato Hospital and gained experience in various specialties over 3 years. She completed a Diploma of Child Health through the University of Otago during her paediatric placement. She entered the GP training scheme and was awarded her fellowship in 2023.
She married a classmate in her medical school class. They have both completed their GP training together and are busy looking after their young son. They have recently relocated back to Auckland to be closer to extended family.
Evy’s special interests include Children’s health, Women’s health, and establishing long term patient-doctor relationships to allow for optimal management of long-term health conditions and preventative primary care.
Outside of work Evy enjoys cooking/baking, crocheting and looking for new playgrounds/activities for her toddler.
