Dr Maartje Ament

Dr Maartje Ament is an approved Class 1, 2 and 3 Aviation Medical Examiner for the New Zealand Civil Aviation Authority.

She completed her Aviation Medical Examiner training with the Royal Dutch Air Force in Soesterberg, The Netherlands, and is currently undertaking a Master of Aviation Medicine through the University of Otago.

Alongside aviation medicine, Dr Ament works as a General Practitioner at Silverdale Medical and has a special interest in occupational and aviation health.

Additional reports & investigations. Depending on your history and CAA requirements, further assessments may be needed (blood tests, optometry/ophthalmology reports, specialist or cardiology reports, sleep assessments). These are not included in the standard fee and incur additional charges. Payment for the examination and any testing is required on the day of your appointment.

What if additional information is needed?
Dr Ament may request additional reports, specialist opinions or investigations before your assessment can be finalised.
Are appointments available outside Wednesdays?
Currently aviation medical appointments are available on Wednesdays. Additional sessions may be added in future. Please call to enquire.
