Enjoy clinical variety while preserving personal balance

  • FTE range: 0.6–1.0, tailored to your needs
  • One dedicated Urgent Care shift/week: 12:00pm–8:00pm
  • One Urgent Care weekend shift/month
  • All remaining shifts are General Practice
  • Inbox cover work for those who wish to work remotely

Each 4-hour session includes:

  • 12 booked GP consults
  • 15-minute paid break
  • 45 minutes of protected paperwork/admin time
  • 1-hour unpaid lunch with the opportunity to participate in CME alongside your colleagues

Skin Cancer Expert

Skin Cancer Doctor

Specialised care with surgical impact

SkinSafe is a purpose-built skin cancer clinic located in Orewa, operating under the ownership of Silverdale Medical. We provide early detection, surgical care, and patient education in a high-quality, team-oriented environment.

The opportunity:

  • Join a high-demand surgical service with a strong referral base
  • Participate in public (DHB) and private surgical contracts
  • Work 1–4 days/week on a sessional contractor basis
  • No GP referral required – direct-to-specialist patient access
  • Southern Cross affiliated provider – direct billing

What we're looking for:

  • Vocational Registration in General Practice (or working towards it) – Cornerstone Accredited Practice
  • Fellowship with RNZCGP or RNZCUC (or eligibility) preferred
  • Experience in general practice settings, with strong clinical decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-volume clinic
  • Commitment to patient-centred care with excellent communication skills

You are a skilled proceduralist with a strong foundation in skin cancer surgery – and just as importantly, you are an excellent communicator. You take time to explain findings, ensure patient understanding, and manage clinical risk with care and precision.

You are professional, warm, and confident in your judgement. You enjoy working in a team and bring a collaborative, safety-first mindset to every interaction.

Requirements

  • A logbook of 100+ excisions completed in the past 6 months
  • Eligibility for a DHB skin lesion or surgical contract
  • Fellowship or progression towards Skin Cancer Doctors of New Zealand Fellowship
  • Proficiency in lesion assessment, excision, follow-up, and documentation
  • A respectful and ethical approach to patient care and clinical decision-making

Nurse Practitioner

Our Practice

Silverdale Medical operate a group of three GP sites located on the sunny Hibiscus Coast of Northern Auckland (Silverdale, Millwater and Weiti Creek). These operate as a single practice. One of the few GP partner owned large practices in New Zealand, Silverdale Medical offers GP growth and development pathways second to none.

We pride ourselves as a teaching site and are affiliated with the RNZCGP and Auckland University for GP registrars and medical students.

Silverdale Medical offers supervision for International Medical Graduates, vocational teaching, Urgent Care, and Clinical Trials Medicine with Partner physicians leading each line of business. Work Patterns

Most GPs work four days a week, one of which is an evening till 8pm, and one weekend shift a month. During the week GPs see 24 patients in an 8-hour day. Inbox management is supported by nurses.
